Dillard Funeral Home was founded in Eudora, AR in 1973 by the late Maude Etta Davis-Dillard and John W. Dillard. Today, Dillard remains a family business under John W. Dillard & wife Bettye Dillard.
The business was an offshoot of Davis Funeral Home in Dermott, where John and Maude Etta, lovingly known by all as “Doll,” began careers in funeral service under her parents M.E. Davis and Conneliaus Davis in the 1950s. John Dillard served as embalmer more than 20 years until the young couple opened Dillard Funeral Home in Eudora. Three generations since M.E. Davis, the family continues to offer Southeast Arkansas funeral services, and have expanded to four locations, including the newest in Monticello, Ark. Funeral directors are the Dillard family, Dan Price, Dan Price Jr., and Harold Freeman.
Dillard loves helping families. A former coach, principle and superintendent, he understands families are as diverse as they come, so Dillard customizes services to suite the need. He is a true and honest leader known across the state and in many regions. John also held state and national offices on the Funeral Directors boards.
Like its founder, many Dillard Funeral Home staff members take on community leadership roles from volunteering in churches to serving on community boards. Staff members have also served as officers and committee members in the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and the Arkansas Funeral Directors and Morticians Association (AFDMA). John Dillard is the Arkansas AFDMA president, helping set policies and standards to govern facilities across the state.
